This full-time programme is a fantastic opportunity for students who want to get hands-on skills in industry while learning. Students are based in industry three days per week (paid) and attend college two days per week.
The B.Eng in Automation and Robotics has been designed in close consultation with manufacturing industries in the western region who have identified an acute skill gap in the field.
The aim of the programme is to graduate engineers that can build and manage modern manufacturing cells. The graduate profile is in automation and robotics applied to advanced manufacturing with skills in HMI configuration and networking.
This programme is a first step to addressing the emergent Industry 4.0 requirements of manufacturing companies. Graduates of this programme will have the skills and knowledge to design and maintain automated manufacturing processes, and integrate in-house and vendor automation solutions.
Entry Requirements
Students enter through the Common Entry Engineering (or equivalent first year of engineering) and transfer into the second year of the programme.
Progression Opportunity
Graduates can progress to the B.Eng. (H) in Automation and Digital Manufacturing.
Flexible study
This programme is also offered on a part-time basis.
