Master of Science in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing

The programme was designed in partnership with Irish companies manufacturing biopharmaceuticals and relevant industry stakeholders. Learners will develop both critical research skills in biopharmaceutical science and indepth understanding of the quality processes involved in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals products.
The Masters programme will be delivered using a blended learning approach. Based on the input from industry, the programme design team have placed a strong emphasis on work-based learning and the year long long research project will be carried out in the company in which you work or should this not be possible ATU Galway will make every effort to facilitate a project within an applied research centre in ATU Galway.
The MSc in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing will develop in-depth knowledge of biologics manufacturing and skills relevant to the biopharmaceutical sector through the delivery of a suite of modules,including: Advanced Biopharmaceutical Science, Bioprocessing Technology, Validation for Biopharmaceuticals, Design and Analysis of Experiments and Six Sigma Management. A choice of elective will be offered from the following: Biopharmaceutical Science, Immunology, Immunotherapeutics and Vaccine Technology, and Biopharmaceutical Facilities./p>

What to Expect
The programme has been designed for people in full-time employment in the Biopharmaceutical/Pharmaceutical sector. Lectures and tutorials will be delivered live on-line and will be recorded, available through ATU's learning platform Moodle. On-site activities are limited, but learners who take the elective module in Biopharmaceutical Science will be expected to be onsite for a 2 day on-site practical workshop in December.
The department will be running on-site medical technologies networking events and students enrolled on the Masters in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing are welcome to attend.
