Overview
ATU has one of the most highly valued Software & Electronic Engineering qualifications in Ireland. You will learn about software, computers, electronics, the Internet, and the cloud, from the basic transistor to the Internet of Things. There is a particular focus on state-of-the-art technologies and engineering techniques.
Your personal and professional development form key components of the programme. We pride ourselves on our innovative learning environment which uses team and problem based techniques; this means less teaching and more learning for you. An eight-month work placement is offered in the third year of the programme. This enables students to apply their knowledge and develop their skills within high tech work environments such as Cisco, Intel, Ericsson, Analog Devices, SAP, Avaya, Valeo and Boston Scientific. Alternatively, students can avail of an Erasmus+ study placement in a partner college in Europe.
