Advanced Geographic Information Systems

Description

The course will build on the foundation skills gained in GIS I. Students will learn how to think spatially, communicate effectively using spatial information, and conduct data analysis with the use of GIS (ArcGIS®Pro) software as a decision support application tool.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Become proficient in the use of GIS tools to conduct spatial analyses and build maps that are fit-for-purpose and effectively convey the information 

  2. Use GIS analyses to address applied problems and/or research questions relevant to agriculture and environmental sciences

  3. Demonstrate good data management

  4. Troubleshoot and learn GIS functions independently

  5. Demonstrate ability to utilise geoprocessing and analysis tools.
