Change and Education in Nursing Practice

Description

This module aims to:

  • Develop an awareness of the significance of change and change management within health and social care settings.
  • Develop an awareness of the significance of education within nursing practice, focusing on teaching and creating a learning environment, mentorship, supervision and preceptorship.
  • Develop the students' skills and knowledge to apply  them to promote change and development within nursing practice.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Critically analyse the leadership/ management role of the registered nurse and apply to the clinical learning environment.

  2. Critically analyse theories of change management.

  3. Critically analyse the promotion of a change culture within the practice environment

  4. Critically analyse theories of education and apply to practice within the clinical learning environment.

  5. Critically analyse patient teaching models and consider their application to the clinical learning environment.
