Destination and Resort Management

Description

The aim of this module is to develop a knowledge of destination and resort management strategies.  The module aims to evaluate the range of destination and resort concepts and contemporary issues that enable learners identify and evaluate critical factors in destination and resort planning, operation and management.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Evaluate a critical awareness of a range of resort and destination themes and locations

  2. Develop a knowledge of the key concepts and issues in resort and destination planning and development

  3. Critique relevant resort/destination marketing and branding and develop critical thinking for the planning of destination and resort strategies.

  4. Determine the key influences and trends in successful resort and destination operations

  5. Assess the factors critical to sustainable destination and resort development
