Digital Technology and Digital Childhoods

This module prepares learners for the use of digital media and preparing digital content. This module builds on the Trends in ECEC module offered at Level 7. The learner will plan, capture and edit video, audio and still images. Learners will be equipped with the necessary leadership skills when evaluating and using digital technology in an early childhood setting. Learners will showcase their work in a final ePortfolio.

1. Plan, capture and manipulate images.

2. Plan, capture and manipulate video and audio.

3. Produce a digital initiative suitable for intended audience.

4. Plan and publish digital work in an ePortfolio.

5. Evaluate the issues and opportunities that digital technologies present in the early years.

6. Recommend strategies for introducing digital technologies to an early childhood setting.
