Description
Engineering Science is an introductory module which integrates basic engineering and scientific principles for the understanding and analysis of engineering related problems in physics and chemistry.
Learning Outcomes
Define, explain and solve problems of force, pressure and density.
Explain relationships between pressure, volume and temperature
Solve problems using the gas laws.
Calculate the final temperature of a mixture.
Solve problems of thermal expansion.
Calculate the resultant of two dimensional system of forces.
State the conditions for equilibrium of a particle in two dimensions.
Solve problems of equilibrium in two dimensions.
Calculate the displacement, velocity and acceleration of a particle in rectilinear motion.
Solve problems of projectile motion.
