Financial Management 2 Investment Decisions

Description

This module looks at the role of the finance manager in making investment decisions - considered to be the biggest financial decision the finance manager will make. It  looks at the subsequent financing decision. Students will be expected to display a through knowledge of the various sources of finance available to an organisation to assist in any particular investment decision undertaken.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Appraise capital investments through the use of appropriate methods as well as justify a recommendation.

  2. Analyse and determine the effects of taxation/inflation/uncertainty on capital investment projects.

  3. Explain the role and purpose of financial management in the business and corporate environment and identify opportunities in the business environment where the finance manager can add value to decision making.

  4. Evaluate appropriate sources of finance for particular situations.
