Irish Language and Culture 1 aims to provide students who have Leaving Certificate Irish at Higher or Ordinary level, or an equivalent , with an understanding of written and spoken material of an appropiate standard.  In addition students are introduced to basic grammar structures as well the history and development of the language.

1. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing within defined situations.

2. Show an understanding of the history of the Irish Language.

3. To develop listening skills in the Irish Language.

4. Understand and use basic structures of Irish Grammar.
