New Technology and Application to Jewellery II

The aim of this module is to develop an understanding and realisation of the capabilities of new technologies currently being utilised within the jewellery industry.  To use digital technologies appropriately to support and enhance specialist work. To integrate the accumulated learning from 2D designs to 3D models and the practical capabilities of rapid prototyping and 3D printing.

1. Develop design ideas suitable for manufacture using 3D printing.

2. Develop creative solutions in design for 3D printing.

3. Demonstrate proficiency in the application of health and safety regulations when operating with machinery/equipment.

4. Demonstrate proficiency in relevant CAD software packages to generate 3D digital models.
