Open Day to take place in two city campuses (Saturday 24 January)
Last chance to learn all about GMIT programmes before CAO 2015 application deadline
GMIT will hold an Open Day at its two city campuses on Saturday next, 24 January, for mature students, school leavers and parents. This is the Institute’s last Open Day before the CAO application deadline of 1 February, providing excellent opportunities to talk to lecturers and students about GMIT programmes.
The event runs from 9.30am to 1pm, and a bus shuttle service will operate between the two campuses – the main Galway campus at Dublin Road and the Centre for Creative Arts & Media (formerly Cluain Mhuire) at Wellpark Road.
Activities include introductory talks on the range of disciplines and programmes, workshops and demonstrations, and studio and lab tours. See the full schedule of discipline talks on www.gmit.ie/general/open-day
Events include career and CAO clinics, SUSI college finance clinics, a graduate showcase, Students Union Exhibition, campus tours and more. Information will also be available on programmes on offer in other GMIT campuses at Letterfrack, Castlebar and Mountbellew.
GMIT Schools Liaison Officer, Dr Carina Ginty, says “It’s a really great opportunity for school pupils, their parents and mature students to call in and see what GMIT college life is like, and to get a taster of the programme they are interested in, before they decide on their CAO choices.”
GMIT offers a variety of programmes in disciplines such as agriculture, business and IT, computing, engineering, science, tourism and hospitality, creative arts and media, furniture design, nursing and social care and more.
