Person Centred Interpersonal Relationships

Description

The Person Centred Interpersonal Relationships module will facilitate students in developing the knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary for Person Centred Nursing Practice. It will provide students with the opportunity to explore and analyse the concept of Person Centred Care and its relevance and application to contemporary nursing practice.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Critically analyse the origins, characteristics, key values, beliefs and philosophical foundations of person-centred practice.

  2. Appraise the contribution of the concept of person centred care and person centred practice frameworks in the context of nursing.

  3. Demonstrate proficiency in communication skills central to the delivery of person centred care,

  4. Critically analyse factors which influence the delivery of person centred care in a variety of healthcare settings,

  5. Work in partnership with persons in designing and evaluating effective person centred care plans.
