Professional Practice in Engineering(A)

Description

The aim of this module is to develop the learners knowledge, awareness, skills and competencies in a broad range of areas of professional practice. It is
designed to give the learner an appreciation of the importance of inter and intrapersonal communication and to foster engagement with life long learning
opportunities.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify why we communicate, be able to recognise a person’s ego state, and if necessary be able to use the appropriate conflict resolution technique.

  2. Apply EI Code of Ethics to any given situation whilst understanding the underlying ethical principles.

  3. Investigate civil engineers play in deploying innovative, sustainable, and nature-based solutions beyond the traditional engineering practices to overcome global issues and deliver Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).

  4. Contribute effectively and professionally in a team environment.

  5. Reflect on their learning practice and process over the year.
