Research Methods for Forensic Science

Description

This module provides the theoretical insight and practical skills required to plan, implement, analyse and report on a research project in Forensic Science.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Assess the different kinds of research designs and methodology in terms of their appropriateness, transparency and quality

  2. Source scientific literature and access relevant information through the use of journals, books, abstracts, inter-library loans, the Internet and other electronic media

  3. Selectively abstract, synthesize and collate relevant information

  4. Communicate scientific proposals, papers and reports with clarity and logical structure.

  5. Prepare a scientific poster on a scientific subject

  6. Identify and choose a research project topic and plan the delivery of that research project
