Dr. Erik Mac Giolla joined ATU Mayo in 2023. He received his PhD in psychology from Gothenburg University, Sweden, in 2016. His principal teaching duties are on the B.Sc in Psychology, where he teaches on the history of psychology, research methods and statistics, and cognitive psychology. Erik is an active researcher and has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles. His primary research area is in Legal Psychology, including eyewitness memory, suspect interviewing, and deception detection. He has also published on the topics of personality and social cognition. Erik also has an interest in the open science movement, and is the Principle Investigator of the international replication project CLIMR (https://climr.org/) funded by the Swedish Research Council.
