Thermodynamic Systems
Description
Application of thermodynamic principles to engineering applications.
Learning Outcomes
Apply the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics to work processes in thermodynamics components and to cycles for power production for the listed systems:
- Steam power cycles
- Air Standard cycles
- Combined cycle power systems
- Combustion Theory
Draw (Pv, Tv, and Ts) diagrams for the above systems and discuss details relating to the diagrams
Calculate the thermal efficiencies for the various classes of engineering devices and cycles and be able to list strategies for improvement
Perform detailed Combustion calculations to evaluate Air Fuel Ratio, Condensation temperature for flue gases, Enthalpy of formation.
