Work Experience Project

Description

The purpose of the module is to provide students with an opportunity to gain accreditation for learning through work experience. Students arrange their own work experience with a minimum of 120 hours of work engagement. The student learning through work experience can take place in a variety of organisational settings and roles, including volunteering. This module aims to help students to identify and reflect upon key skills gained through work experience, with a view to developing as a professional for future employment.

Learning Outcomes

  1. demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the business environment and functional areas of an organisation;

  2. identify and apply a range of appropriate technical and interpersonal skills that reflect a professional attitude in the workplace;

  3. apply a systematic approach to recording key attributes and learnings obtained through their work experience, which are required for future sustainable employability; and

  4. identify the links between theoretical concepts and their application in the workplace.
